Fritz Mayer van den Bergh was first and foremost a collector. During his short life he collected around 3,000 works of art. Animals are often depicted in art and are sometimes cleverly hidden: cats, robins, horses, pigs, butterflies, deer, … All of these animals will be familiar to you, but some of them were previously either unknown or very rare. Moreover, each animal gives a special meaning to a work of art. And some animals even dare to claim the leading role.

During this interactive guided tour of the Museum Mayer van den Bergh, children from the 2nd to the 6th grade of primary school will search for animals and try to find their meaning in paintings, sculptures, cupboards, gold leather or textiles. They will discover amazing and enchanting art treasures.

Practical information:

  • Maximum 14 children per group, maximum two groups at the same time
