A Brilliant Story

Step inside DIVA and marvel at the beauty of diamonds, jewellery and silver in the revamped permanent expo ‘A Brilliant Story‘.

From the 15th century, Antwerp’s Grote Markt and the surrounding streets were the ‘place to be’ for anyone who was looking to find objects made of gold, silver and gemstones. Join us on a journey in the diamond capital of the world and discover the stories from raw material to object, from Antwerp’s heyday to today.

In one story, spread over seven rooms, you will discover DIVA’s magnificent collection and the extraordinary craftsmanship of not only diamond workers, but also gold- and silversmiths.

Come visit the museum that sparkles!

Practical information:

  • This guided tour is suitable for students in 3rd grade of secondary education
  • Maximum 15 persons per group
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Guided visits are available from 10.30 to 16.30. The tours start every half hour

Is DIVA accessible for people with reduced mobility?

DIVA is accessible for (electric) wheelchairs and walkers. All exhibition rooms are accessible by lift. To use the lift, you sometimes have to deviate from the planned route. Our staff in the museum halls will be happy to show you the way. Adapted toilets can be found on floor -1. DIVA provides a wheelchair and 20 folding chairs, which are available at the front desk.

Can I enter DIVA with a stroller?

Strollers are allowed in the museum rooms. We do ask that all bags attached to the stroller be placed in the lockers (on floor -1). Would you prefer to store the stroller during your visit? You can do so in the space provided. Please talk to our staff in the entrance hall. You will find two changing tables in the toilets

Can I bring my dog?

No, only guide dogs are allowed during your visit.

  • DIVA’s experienced team of guides are eager to give you the tour, they will guide you through the permanent exhibition “A Brilliant Story ” for an hour and a half
  • After the 90-minute tour, you are free to visit the exhibition(s)
