Leading ladies

The house and the family-owned company survived for three hundred years. This was largely the work of a group of strong, emancipated women. Their names are Martina Plantin (1550–1616), Anna Goos (1627–1691), Anna-Maria de Neuf (1654–1714) and Maria-Theresia Borrekens (1728–1797). They managed the company for long periods of time, guaranteeing its continuity.

Is this tour also suitable for disabled people?

The tour will take place on the ground floor and the first floor. Wheelchair users can only visit the ground floor. The museum is a historic house that grew organically over centuries. That’s why there are several steps on the first floor to go from one room to another, which is not possible to navigate with a wheelchair. The guide will adapt the workshop accordingly.
