The etching technique originated in the 16th century as a new form of reproduction graphics. Contemporaries of Rubens, such as Van Dyck and Rembrandt, were real virtuosos of etching. In the workshop you will first view book illustrations, prints and drawings. Then you’ll learn how to make a drypoint etching, as you get to work with plexiglass, ink and a centuries-old etching press.
You get to do it yourself. You learn from an expert. You understand how a book was made.

- This workshop is suitable for groups of adults
- Maximum 12 persons per group
- Duration: 90 minutes
- The workshop will take place on the ground floor
- Your museum ticket is valid all day long, so you will be able to visit the rest of the Museum Plantin-Moretus
