St. Andrew’s Church is just a stone’s throw from the historic centre. This historic gem contains several valuable artefacts and art treasures from the distant past, as well as some from the more recent past. Some works belong to the top-tier of Antwerp’s cultural heritage, for example the 18th century baroque high altar, the 19th century pulpit or the 17th century monument erected in memory of Mary, Queen of Scots. Very unusual are the baroque altars with ‘enclosures’; St. Andrew’s Church is the only place in Antwerp where they have survived.
