The 70 Years of Geneva exhibition explores the authentic stories of refugees who travelled to Belgium over the last 70 years. Stories about frustration, uncertainties and traumas, but also about courage, resilience and perseverance. What decisions did they have to make during their journey? Who did they meet along the way? And what about the label ‘refugee’? Will they ever be able to shake it? Come and enjoy this thought-provoking exhibition.
The Red Star Line Museum tells the story of two million passengers who once crossed the ocean on the Red Star Line steamers to reach America. Some of them would also be considered refugees today. This shows that this is not just a topical issue that has developed during the last few years. Throughout time, millions of people have left their homes during wars and crises to seek safety.
