Fritz Mayer van den Bergh was a young collector with German roots, who collected some 3,000 art objects, including the Mad Meg by Bruegel. After his sudden death, his mother Henriëtte fulfilled his wish and established a museum for his breathtaking collection.

During this interactive guided tour of the Museum Mayer van den Bergh, which is intended for non-native speakers, the collection will be the starting point for a conversation about art, beauty, origin and emotion. The guide will stimulate this conversation so that students can express their impressions of the collection. The atmospheric interior will enchant and amaze. Behind the special art treasures lies a universal story about a mother’s unconditional love for her son and about the passion and perseverance of a young man.
