Each culture has its own way of celebrating. During the ‘Celebration!’ expo at the MAS, the students will dive into the changing traditions of the celebrations of life’s rites of passage. Whether it’s a baptism, marriage, graduation, funeral or adulthood: we all tend to come together and celebrate.
The guide at the MAS will escort the students through various rites of passage, parties and processions. They will encounter the giant’s parade, the Antwerp Pride, the Hindu community who launch Ganesha into the water every year and the Mexicans who festively commemorate the dead during Dia de Los Muertos. All of these celebrations will make them look critically at why we celebrate something.
