The exhibition Recaptioning Congo reclaims archival material from the Congolese colonial period. This expo takes a critical look at how the old photographs were used to represent people and societies and places history in a new light. Diverse perspectives from European and African photographers, ranging from propaganda images to family portraits, show how photography shapes our view.
