Discover DIVA’s stories on a sensory tour

Discover various tactile elements and fire up your sense of smell during the permanent exhibition ‘DIVA, a Brilliant Story’. The tour has been designed with blind and visually impaired visitors in mind.

What does a diamond feel like? Can you identify the gemstone by its cut parts or facets? You can touch silver jewellery and materials, immersing yourself in DIVA’s glittering stories. The guide describes the diamonds, jewellery and silverware, and brings the stories to life.

The tour starts on the second floor in the Raw Materials Room. Then you will descend (via the stairs or the elevator) to the Boudoir and the Vault on the first floor, and finally, via the Atelier, the Trading Room and the Dining Room, end up in the Room of Wonders. The museum tour follows the journey of the diamond or raw material, from the mine to the finished product.

You can book the tour for a group of up to 8 people. You can also book this tour if you want to be guided with two people, for example.

Practical info:

  • The guided tour is suitable for blind and visually impaired
  • Maximum 8 people (including assistants) per guide. Guide dogs are welcome
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Guided visits are available from 10.30 to 16.30. The tours start every half hour

Is DIVA accessible for people with reduced mobility?

DIVA is accessible for (electric) wheelchairs and walker. All exhibition rooms are accessible by lift. To use the lift, you sometimes have to deviate from the planned route. Our staff in the museum halls will be happy to show you the way. Adapted toilets can be found on floor -1. DIVA provides a wheelchair and 20 folding chairs, which are available at the front desk.

Can I enter DIVA with a stroller?

Strollers are allowed in the museum rooms. We do ask that all bags attached to the stroller be placed in the lockers (on floor -1). Would you prefer to store the stroller during your visit? You can do so in the space provided. Please talk to our staff in the entrance hall. You will find two changing tables in the toilets

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are not allowed, except for guide dogs and other certified assistance dogs.

  • DIVA’s experienced team of guides are eager to give you the tour, they will guide you through the permanent exhibition
    ‘DIVA, a Brilliant Story’ for an hour.
  • After the 60-minute tour, you are free to visit the exhibition(s).
